The Communication Development Office Released a Press Release Regarding the Media Coverage of “Communication Development Office Sergeant Violated Information Security Regulations”. (January 13th, 2019)

The explanations regarding the media coverage of “Communication Development Office Sergeant Violated Information Security Regulations” are as follows:

1. The Communication Development Office has stated that the affiliated sergeant Hou has been confirmed to be using the video calling function of smart phones in his personal bedroom at camp and not hacking the software of the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology. The office upholds the principle of “The Innocents Will Not Be Wronged, and the Guilty Will Be Severely Punished“ and will be transferring sergeant Hou to the New Taipei City Military Police for investigation and clarify the details of his inappropriate behavior and relevant violation.

2. The office will then convene the Punishment Personnel Evaluation Committee in accordance with the “Armed Forces Punishment Act” and the the principle of “sentencing and punishment at the same time” to sentence sergeant Hou with administrative punishment according to his violation in order to maintain discipline and review on removing the inapplicable active duty; in addition, relevant cadres will be investigated for duty negligence.

3. The office admits and reviews on the negligence, and the violation of sergeant Hou has been used as a case propaganda. The office asks that all affiliated units to reinforce the internal management, personnel assessment and information security control, as well as convene gradual review meetings in order to establish the correct cogitation for officers and soldiers to prevent similar incident from happening again.
